Land Rover Defender Lease
Revamped and reinvigorated in 2019, the all-new Land Rover Defender has been stylishly overhauled for the demands of the modern age.
The updated Defender is still the same no-nonsense workhorse as it has ever been, and it still leads the way off-road, yet lease customers can now also expect an abundance of creature comforts, including a sophisticated interior with a sliding panoramic roof, as well as the option of an efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain

Sporting a range of practical features, powerful engines and its world-famous off-road capability - the Defender has amassed a cult following since arriving off the production line over 40 years ago and could bring in further fans for its no-nonsense, gritty design and finely styled interior upgrades.
Price wise, the Defender sits between the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Velar - though it occupies a more rugged, dependable niche than those luxury SUVs - and rivals vehicles like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Jeep Wrangler.
It comes as either a two-door ‘90’ or four-door, seven-seat ‘110’, or a long-wheelbase, eight-seat ‘130’.
All-wheel drive comes as standard, as does low traction launch, roll stability control and hill descent control, while a good choice of petrol and diesel engines also feature mild-hybrid technology.
If you want to improve economy further, the P400e is a plug-in hybrid capable of returning up to 109 mpg and which reduces CO2 emissions to 75 g/km.
Meanwhile a Defender lease also comes with a host of driver assistance tech equipped as standard, from a 3D surround camera to wade sensing.

About the Land Rover Defender
The birth of the Defender as we know it came in 1983, when Land Rover launched the ‘One-Ten’ model. Timeless design and a do-anything attitude spawned an industry trailblazer. And when the ‘Defender’ name first appeared in 1990, the legend had already begun.
The Defenders of old were minimalist, agricultural, and devoid of luxuries. But the new breed of Defenders, with the car having been completely redesigned in 2019, are cut from a very different cloth, featuring a plush, state-of-the-art cabin with all the latest driver assistance and safety aids, as well as a thoroughly modern range of engines.
There are three main Defender models to choose from - the two-door ‘90’, four-door ‘110’, and the long-wheelbase, eight-seat ‘130’. The 90 and 110 versions are also available as ‘Hard Top’ vans.
Meanwhile there’s a glut of trims available, from the entry-level Defender HSE to the aggressive, 525 hp Defender V8.
Why lease a Land Rover Defender
The abundance of choice on offer with a Land Rover Defender lease is what really appeals, as is the fact that the modern design will still resonate with Defender die-hards who admired the old model so much.
The most affordable Defenders are the ‘Hard Top’ light commercial vehicles, which strip-out the rear seats to accommodate a van-style load bed, with a payload of up to 800 kg.
All variants, whichever you choose, come with all-wheel drive as standard and a high/low range transfer box - and it’s a 4x4 system that really will take you anywhere you need to go.
Almost all of the engines, barring the most powerful units, feature mild-hybrid technology to reduce emissions and improve efficiency.
Meanwhile the ‘P400e’ plug-in hybrid variants offer a range of up to 51 miles using electricity alone.
If performance is what you crave, the Defender V8 will accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 5.2 seconds, which is quicker than the entry-level Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.
Which Land Rover Defender fuel type is right for me?
There’s a choice of two efficient diesel powertrains, both of which are aided by mild-hybrid technology, meanwhile the range-topping V8 sacrifices fuel economy for outright pace.
Diesel
The D250 mild-hybrid diesel offers power of 249 hp and will return around 32 mpg with the Defender 90. There’s also a more powerful D300 mild-hybrid, available with the Defender 110 and 130, which takes power up to 300 hp.
Petrol
The entry-level petrol engine is the P400, which is again aided by mild-hybrid wizardry and is available with the 110 and 130 Defenders.
The P525 engine, however, is reserved for the range-topping Defender V8 and offers power of 525 hp.
Plug-in hybrid
The plug-in hybrid P400e engine is available with the Defender 110 and marries potent power of 404 hp with the ability to return up to 109 miles to the gallon. You can also enjoy a range of around 51 miles using nothing but electricity.

Land Rover Defender Review
The Defender has to become more palatable for luxury SUV customers without losing any utilitarian credibility. And as much as we hate to spoil the verdict, there’s no denying Land Rover has done a great job of filling that brief.
